  • The title of the book is misleading. Pop anthology would be more accurate as about 75 percent of the songs fall into that catagory. If you are looking for a book full of hard rock, then this isn't for you. Also be aware the notation is for the beat only.No fills or any other extras. About 770 songs are in the book and they are crammed onto 100 pages. The book originally sold for $14.95 in 1990. Why it's drawing $45.00 is puzzeling. Having said that; the book does have it's good points.770 plus beats is a lot. And there are no repeats. There are also some really good songs sprinkled througout. Is it useful? Absolutely. Am I glad I own it? Yes.

  • This book contains a great collection of beats from every decade of rock 'n' roll - pretty much a must-have for a beginning or intermediate rock drummer (I was "beginning" when I got it, and am now intermediate).

And it is ring-bound, as it should be (for laying flat on a music stand in the woodshed/practice room)!
