  • The composition "Die to Live" is the reason I purchased the album but isn't the only reason to have it.

Steve Vai is not afraid to experiment with the variety of sounds that the electric guitar can produce and he can produce all of them at will. not all that he gleans is gold but it is all worth giving a try. you will always find something that speaks to you.

  • Awesome and accurate.

  • awesome

  • Very well done!!

  • Excellent TAB for Steve Vai's Alien Love Secrets album. All my fave songs, with great details for each song. Now if only I could play them like him?!. :)

  • I really like Steve Vai's music very much. Try to see him playing and then memorize what he dis its almost impossible. This book help me a lot and makes me all clear to do it by my self. After few hours practicing now its impossible for others catch what Ive played.

  • A few years ago, a friend of mine challenged me to learn to play "Juice". Now I've been playing for 30 years and am adequately good, but it's just for fun: I have plenty of other commitments and to me, this was way beyond my league and I knew it. But my friend kept on plugging away at me, and in the end I started listening to the track at half-speed with Windows Media Player: still impossible!

Finally, I discovered this book and it all became clear. At the rate of a few bars a week, I put the whole piece together and a year later, I can do it! If cloning Vai is where you're at, there is nothing better. Since immersing myself in all things Vai, I have met him twice, and I know he finds the "robot copier" approach rather sad. I don't think he realises what a haul it is for a mere bedroom guitarist to approach his own level of technical ability, and there are very few people who can also be original and creative at that high standard. But then, he DOES play for 8 hours a day, every day...

The book is excellent - but don't kid yourself, it is WORK! But if you put in the effort, the reward is extremely satisfying. Good Luck!

  • I am actually not fond of Vai. He is a great guitar player but I think he plays for fame than for passion, but this album is truly a masterpiece. This album has licks that makes you say "wow!!" like the other albums and this album has PASSION. He really felt these songs. I strongly advice this album. It's definetely a five star. Don't miss it.
