"I was just following orders." Nazis gave this excuse for committing previously unimaginable atrocities. In trying 22 of the highest Nazi officials at Nuremberg, the Allies established that this was not an acceptable defense and that war crimes would not go unpunished. This anthology details the preparation and conduct of the "greatest criminal trial."

  • The essays in this book are poorly put together. There is some good background information however the essays that are consistently on opposite ends of the spectrum present skewed personal biases that can be easily misconstrued as the truth. I purchased this book as a requirement for a class on the World Wars and Holocaust, as it was my last semester it was hard enough to keep my attention without reading The Nuremberg Trial. On the other hand if you have trouble getting to sleep I would consider it an excellent investment.

  • Mitchell Bard is an excellent scholar and historian. Well versed in Word War and ME history.
